The 2018 Mechanical Creativity and Innovation Competition of Chongqing University has come to a successful conclusion
On December 29th, 2018, at 8:30 am, the final of Chongqing University Mechanical Creativity and Innovation Contest was held in Room D1342, D1343 and D1344 of the First Teaching Building. The competition is divided into fischertechnik group and object group. Through the rigorous selection of Introduction to Engineering Competition, College of Mechanical Engineering Competition and the preliminary round of 2018 Chongqing University Creative Innovation Competition, the best of them are selected to participate in the final. The participating teams are divided into three groups, each of which will defend in three classrooms, and the judges will count the scores and select the winning teams for the competition.

The second group (physical objects): Associate Professor Xianxiong Ning (group leader), Teacher Hong Ren, Associate Professor Chaoxing Song, Teacher Dashuai Yang, Teacher Dabin Liu;
The third group (physical objects): Hengbin Ren (group leader), Associate Dean, Associate Professor Long Bai, Associate Professor Qimin Li, Associate Professor Jing Liu, and Teacher Cuihong Jin.
Before the start of the competition, leaders, teachers, and all participating members participated in the opening ceremony of the competition at D1337. The host briefly introduced the competition process, and then Prof. Yuanxin Luo gave a speech, expressing his confidence and encouragement to the students. He pointed out that he hoped that the students could actively innovate, and wished that all students can achieve good results in the competition. After the opening ceremony, all teachers and students took a group photo in the classroom, and then the competition began.
Each participating team will arrive at the designated classroom for demonstration. Students combined the slides and explained their ideas from different perspectives. Many teams also put experimental data and videos on the screen to support their commentary. Finally, the students showed the finished product and explained the working principle and practical operation method of the product to the teachers and students.
After the teams finished their presentations within the given time, the teachers asked questions. The teachers carefully analyzed the creative ideas of the students, analyzed the works of the students from various aspects, affirmed the good places of the students, and gave suggestions and new thinking directions to the existing defects. For some outstanding teams, teachers put forward higher requirements, hoping that these ideas can be more perfect, in the ever-changing world have a more long-term development path.
During the defense process, the participating teams responded fluently, demonstrating their calmness and agility. At the same time, they also accepted the teachers' teaching with humility, actively thinking about the problems they found, and constantly emerging new ideas in the collision of thoughts.
As time went by, the defenses in the three classrooms ended one after another, and the staff began to count the scores, and the teachers and students came to the D1337 classroom again to wait for the results to be announced.
Finally, at the beginning of the closing ceremony, Prof.Xianxiong Ning, Prof. Jing Du, and Teacher Guijian Xiao delivered speeches to express their encouragement and expectations to the students. They hoped that the students would go out and take a look and receive new ideas. No matter the result, the teachers hope that the students can continue to work hard. At the end of the speech, the teacher expressed his gratitude to the leading teachers and the staff of the Fischer Creative Innovation Association.
